I have completed a PhD in Social Epidemiology and for my thesis I have explored the association between various aspects of social support and weight gain in the general population and weight loss in bariatric surgery patients population. Social relationships across the lifespan and their association with health and wellbeing are my primary research interests, in particular I am very interested in giving social support to others and other forms of pro-social behaviour. I also have an interest in mental health and have explored its association with markers of social integration in children. Recently, additionally to social relationships, I have been investigating cultural participation.  I have been examining whether an arts-based intervention can reduce social isolation and loneliness as well as promote health and wellbeing in older adults.
